Not really, I can just image my ears on the top with my wings and tail in the background. I mean I still keep most of my physical appearance so yeah, no big deal to me.

Like Zanblade suggests, reflections typically aren't a big deal if your kin has a human looking face. sure I have to hide my human ears with my hair and imagine cat ears on top of my head and a tail behind me, but I still have a face that suits me, so it's not a big deal. (actually, I really like mirrors)

Self-hate is a big issue in otherkin communities, in my opinion, if you can't accept your physical body there's something wrong with how you're interpreting what being otherkin is (ofc this is generally speaking and not pointing fingers) my kin looks human with the ability to polymorph so I'm fine with any form and never really hated how I looked not like my kin, so I cannot relate to people who fall down that rabbit hole of dysphoria.

I have to disagree with everyone who's posted so far. Looking in the mirror is incredibly disorienting even with my kintype having a form relatively similar to that of a human. I don't like it. It doesn't look like me, it doesn't feel like me. I mean it's better than being a man. I can only remember one life that I was born a man and I killed myself. I know its extreme and I don't condone suicide, but that's how strong the dysphoria was for me. But I suppose the very fact that I chose that release shows that something is wrong. Perhaps with the body, or how I'm choosing to interpret it?

I think perhaps some of us, maybe based on what our kin is, have stronger feelings of species dysphoria than others. Maybe different soul types are simply more sensitive to this sort of discomfort.
