Re: Dragon Magic books anyone ?!
There is a book called Dancing With Dragons by D.J. Conway.
The reason I bring this book up, is the general response to it is that the book is really awful. I'd be inclined to agree, since it makes several mentions of several dragons, but doesn't really elaborate on them. It briefly talks about various historical things, without references or citation as well. There's various rituals and the like throughout, and then an index of various rocks, woods, colors, etc. with their properties as D.J. Conway would have interpreted them.
However... I think the book is also "good" in the sense that it would give you ideas on things to do. I don't readily agree with the methods, but I guess to read between the lines, it does give a sense of making your own thing.
I'd also in general recommend anything by an author named "Lupa", who has done a few books regarding animal spirits in general. They leave it very open ended as the exercises are meant to be taken in a way to inspire you to find what works for you, and it's not an "in stone" sort of lesson or the like. Merely a suggestion to find your own things. (I'm reading DIY Animism at the moment. Fang and Fur, Blood and Bone and New Guides to Animal Spirits would have material worth reviewing as well.)
Might just be me, but I've had a difficult time finding new books that catch my attention. I have a backlog to read through, but Lupa's material could be adapted to mythological (aka, dragons and the like) creatures as well as terrestrial ones, if you're curious enough to pick up a book. (If you order direct, they also would sign the book for you.)
