I'm not sure if this has anything to do with shifting, but this is the best place I could find for this.

Have you ever wondered why a cat can be purring one moment and scratching the next. Well through personal experience and piecing together bits if information from innumerable sources, I've created a simple explanation, and it's all the result of static charge.

Now, it's not physical a static charge, usually, but it's very similar. (Side note: High physical static charge can cause hostility) This ethereal static is generated by every animal but cats, and cats pick it up from other species through physical contact. The amount of static charge has significant effects on a cat's behavior.

If static gets above the preferred level, it causes almost instant hostility. This is why cats will seem to turn on you if you pet them too much. When static drops back into the preferred range, the cat goes back to normal as fast as they they turned hostile. It may take a while for the static to drop though.

If static gets below the preferred level, it causes a gradual increase in hostility. This can take a year or two to set in and actually make the cat feral. When static gets back up to the preferred level, the cat should go back to their non-hostile "domestic" state within a month. This isn't always the case though, and feral cats can be dangerous, so don't go trying to domesticate stray cats by petting them. Leave that to the professionals.

Um... About as close as you can come to scientific fact with anything regarding the ethereal. I mean, there are studies that show physical static electricity effects a cat's temperament, and studies that show cats can sense things beyond the physical and react to it. (The results of the latter are debated on accuracy though) The gaps are filled in with my personal studies of myself. (Yes, I perform experiments on myself. Don't judge)

I also experiment on neighborhood strays. For me it's fine, (the cats seem to recognize me as a cat) but it's not the brightest plan.

With 4 cats running my life, this makes sense. Even though I speak cat (to a degree...I still have trouble with my pronunciation and sometimes I'm not quite sure I've said the right thing, LOL) it follows along the lines that I've observed in my kitties. As to the psychic sensing abilities of cats, I often wonder why the TV series dudes from Ghost hunters/chasers/finders don't save some of their cash on those expensive electronic gizmos and their silly green screen infrared cameras and just bring a couple of cats along...My beloved furballs have warned me a number of times of psychic energy long before I ever felt it. Thanks Nekoman, for furthering our understanding of our feline companions!

I also have a pet cat, and she likes to nap in the places that I sit the most. (Did I mention my house is full of energy flows designed to take certain energies to specific places?) She likes to sleep on my bed and under my chair.

I've found that various energies can have dramatic effects on cats, me included. There's a basic energy produced by every spirit but felines, and it has dramatic effects on temperament. That's the "static" I mentioned. I've learned to pull other things with that static, like fragments of memories, through simple eye contact. It's a good jumpstart for learning new skills.

There's a neighborhood cat named Mr. Boo, and long story short, he isn't neutered. He comes to people's houses begging them to pet him, but he bites if you touch his wounds, unless you're me. if I touch his wounds, he just looks at me with this expression of "you know that hurts, right?" I always say "I know" in a gentle voice, and often end up pulling things out of his wounds, usually the tips of cat claws. My secret, I've found an energy that I can feed into him to keep him docile no matter what. It's reached the point where I don't even have to use the energy anymore. He just knows that I'm helping him, even if it does hurt. It took a few tries to find that energy though. Poor Boo...
