Common Therians are basically people  who fully consider themselves therians and who experience different types of shifts, meditate and on and on. They  awaken, then become aware of what they are, whatever at what age they realise it, and it is not a phase for them neither a choice. Common Therians have only one theriotype, contrarily to the polytherians.

Therians have shifting goals and practice a lot of meditation. They go through an intense personal journey and in the end, want to know themselves better and merge with their animal side.

Brought by WorldWolf in 2005, that type of therian refers to people  who feel more or less like an animal and therefore does not experience any kind of shifts or barely. For them, it is more like it is part of them. Their animal traits come out but are mainly integrated to their human personality. Many of them are not so sure if they are therians or not. They doubt because they don't experience the different types of shifts common therians go through.  That doesn't make them less of therians though.

Example : ''I feel kinda wolfish but I don't shift at all. It's normal for me.''

These are people who achieved the balance therians are looking forward as a goal. They are born therians. They always considered themselves to be the animal they claim to be as if it was obvious. They didn't go through an '' awakening '' but instead always knew who they were. As a result, they are permanently merged with their animal self, being in a constant animalistic state of mind.

The difference with other therians is that they don't go through shifts because they learned how to balance and merge already. For them, its normal to be shifted all the time.

  • Cladotherian

Invented By Mokele in the Awareness Forum in 2003, cladotherian means that you are not entitled to only one theriotype specie but instead, to the whole branch of its specie family. Example, their '' feline '' traits come out a lot but are not defining a specie or another, just the feline family in general like purring, clawing, feeling lazy etc are all feline traits. Though, they do not claim to be a cat or lion etc. This can happen when a Therian is trying to find out their theriotype and know they have some '' feline '' traits but can't quite put the finger on which specie exactly. Others, on the other side, do not want to be associated with a specific specie and that's ok.  They are not polytherians though.

  • Vacillant Therian

Vacillant means what it means. They are basically therians with much more gradual and quieter shifts than usual therians so they '' vacillate '' between human and animal. Like flickers of a heart beat. They do not shift as easier, instead it comes more naturally to them and way less often and in a much more discrete manner. They will feel a subtle change from humanity to animalistic without being a deep mental shift or any kind of shift there is.  I see it like someone who has kind of merged with their therio type like contherians but instead but in a way more subtle way. It comes to them at random times, just like a ghost would appear sometimes in random times and places. They have a '' feeling '' of being more animalistic and feel something but its harder for them to pinpoint it.

  • Polytherian / Pantherian

Plytherians are just like common therians. But, instead of having only one theriotype, they have two or more kin types.  That might be due to people believing in reincarnation and therefore, remember many of their past lives. Another theory would be the '' system '' one, in which their human body is inhabited with different animal spirits and entities. They are know to switch from one theriotype to another while some people all altogether at the same time.

Example: ''I am mainly a wolf but I remember having an eagle past life and it part of me as well ''

  • Ailuranthrope

An ailuranthrope is a feline-specific therianthrope or therian. The term is derived from two Greek words; "ailouros" meaning cat, and "anthropinos" meaning human.

Examples of typical ailuranthropes would include a lion therianthrope, a clouded leopard therianthrope, or a panther therianthrope.
I'm a jaguar therian, but I prefer to be called an ailuranthrope.
