That's what I can do. We got a pair of budgies and a female zebra finch from some lady who was giving away her birds. The finch was super chill and instantly fell in love with the male we put her with but the budgies weren't trusting of my folks and I asked them why while I was feeding the finches. They told me they didn't trust strangers and I found out later that the reason was probably also why the lady was giving her birds away. She had entrusted someone to look after the birds while she was away, but they didn't and most of the birds either starved to death or died of thirst. The poor budgies we got probably saw it happen and were traumatised by it.
