The Transcendental Meditation technique is simple, natural, effortless, and easily learned. It is practicedfor 20 minutes twice a day while sitting comfortably with the eyes closed. The TM technique is not a religionor philosophy, nor does it require any change of lifestyle. The Transcendental Meditation technique is taught through a seven-step course of instruction by a certified TM teacher.
The course is followed by weekly, and then monthly, checking sessions (averaging 20–30 minutes) to ensure correct practice of the technique. The course also includes an optional, lifetime follow-up of checking and knowledge to ensure maximum benefit. Anyone 10 years of age or older can learn the practice. (There’s a special technique for children under 10.)

Sit in a Full Lotus Pose, right foot sole uppermost on the left thigh, left foot sole uppermost crossing the right shin, locking it into place, on the right thigh. Relax the shoulders, straighten the back, do not lean. Close the eyes and empty the Mind. This is often difficult, but the purpose of meditation is to calm the surface of the Pool of the Subconscious. Human Beings see the reality as it is reflected in this .magic mirror.. If the surface is troubled, then one cannot see or think clearly.
Thus the symbolism of the Water element. This will calm the mind, heal the body, and help you to see yourself inside. Clench the fists and place them on the knees, palm uppermost. This will aid in diminishing your thoughts and enable you to concentrate on the experience of inner energy. Take three deep breaths, imagining the numbers 3-2-1 with each as you.count down to relaxation.. At the conclusion of the third breath, imagining the numeral 1, swallow and place the tip of your tongue to the roof of your mouth. This connects the psychic channels of the body at the crown and the base of the torso. Click your teeth together thirty-six times. Do this lightly and at an even pace. This calms the heart, even in times of stress.

This is a meditative breathing excercise that I found. As you can tell by the title it is Asian, Chinese. This excercise was one of the first used by the feudal ninjas. The Chinese classics refer to inhaling, drawing the air deep into the Hara (lungs), then holding the breath for extended periods while imagining the circulation of energy within the body. Take care in practicing this method, since you may rupture the small vessels in the neck and face by improperly trying to retain the breath. Likewise, don’t inhale as much as you can and expect to keep it all. Let out about half the inhalation; this is easier to hold and more relaxing to the body. Count your heartbeats at first; after a while, it will not be necessary. Practice twice a day.
At first it will be difficult to sit still for long. The legs will ache or fall asleep from lack of circulation. The hands may tingle or the palms itch. If this happens, fold the fingers around the thumbs. It is best to practice in a quiet place, but even then a leaf may fall.
When these things are no longer distracting, you have reached the level known as "tranquility." That is to say, even sudden noises do not startle you. At that point you may hear a ringing in the ears, soft whistles, or whispers; you may see flashes of light or geometric patterns. I hope this helps, Happy Shifting!

4. Beating the heavenly drum
Interlock the fingers, place the place on the back of the head, covering the ears. The fingers should touch the base of the skull. Place the thumbs below the ears. Gently apply pressure with the palms. Relax the shoulders. This will warm the ears and benefit the kidneys. If your mind is calm, you will feel the beat of your pulse. Breathe slowly and deeply without sound nine times. Think of each breath as water filling a glass. The air is drawn into the lower lungs first and fills them from bottom to top. When exhaling, let the air flow out of the upper lungs first. This draws the "Qi" to the seat of breathing. the "Hara" or "Tan T.ien," the One Point. This is the body.s physical and spiritual center, located approximately two inches below the navel. You will know when you feel it. Continue to rest the hands on the back of the head. Beat the index fingers alternately against the base of the skull at ear level twenty four times. This stimulates the brain, prevents deafness, and helps one achieve longevity. -- 5. Method named : 50/50 Ok, this one is a breathing excercise. Many of you may have seen it on 4 Element Tribe or Zero who posted it on Razgriz. Well either way it originated on 4 Element Tribe. First you have to get in a comfortable position, close your eyes, and begin to take deep breaths. With each breath you should count. Begin with 50 and count down to 0. 50 4948... Once you get to 0 you should be fully relaxed with enough oxygen in your bloodstream to keep you focused. But while meditation you should always take deep breaths, it always helps... Unless you are breathing cyanide gas....
